Journey to the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games The First Ever ParaWebathon

For Immediate Release
Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Date:  June 8, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Purpose:  To raise money and provide awareness for the United States Para-Equestrian team who are attending the Alltech FEI 2010 World Equestrian Games.  All monies will be funneled through the United States ParaEquestrian Association to offset the costs of the 10 United States Para-Athletes and their horses attending the Games.

Presenting Sponsors:  The Horse Radio Network and the 2010 Radio Show, Alltech and the United States ParaEquestrian Association (USPEA).

Medium:  A live video event streaming to websites all over the horse world.  Using USTREAM will make it easy for affiliate websites to promote and carry this first ever "Jerry Lewis like" telethon to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.  It is a simple embed code and you are up and running.

Affiliates:  Websites interested in participating in this event will be able to easily place the live streaming code on their websites.  Websites should promote the event ahead of time and encourage their readers to go to their websites to watch the event.  Any and all websites are encouraged to participate.

Hosts:  From the 2010 Radio Show; Glenn the Geek and Samantha Clark, and Para-Equestrian Susan Treabess

Broadcasting:  This live event will be broadcast from the studios of Alltech.  Alltech has kindly donated their studios and technical expertise to put this event on.  We will highlight the stories of these inspirational athletes who are likely to compete at their first World Championships.

The Need:  The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be the first WEG to offer Para-Equestrian competition.  This is a very exciting addition that brings Para-Equestrian to the forefront of the horse world.  Unfortunately, the Para teams do not have the resources or sponsors that the other disciplines enjoy.  Most of the competitors will have to raise their own funds to attend the WEG this year in Kentucky.  For the American team alone this can amount to up to $20,000 per competitor.

How Can You Help?

• First and foremost, donate during the Webathon on June 8, 2010.

• If you have a website of any kind, please carry the live video on June 8, 2010.  It's free and easy.

• Promote this event throughout all your social media and mailing lists.
